Hospital PVC Flooring: The Invisible Shield Against HAIs 

Santamed offers plenty of Homogeneous PVC floors for choices, which could use in Operation Theatre room, Patient wards, Laboratory, Hospital corridors, Nurse station and etc. Compared with traditional floor, the Homogeneous PVC floor has its obvious features:

(一)Small area installation

Prepare Subfloor
→ Thoroughly clean and level the concrete base (dust-free, dry).

Unroll Flooring
→ Lay out rolled PVC sheets in the installation area; acclimate for 24h at 15-30°C.

Align & Prep Edges
→ Position sheets with tight seams, then flip edges upward for adhesive application.

Apply Double-Sided Tape
→ Fix flooring using medical-grade adhesive tape (5cm width recommended).

Secure & Smooth
→ Press firmly along taped seams with a 50kg roller to eliminate air pockets.

Final Inspection
→ Check seamless bonding; wipe surface with isopropyl alcohol for sterilization.

(二)Secondary Bonding Method

Apply Adhesive with Notched Trowel
→ Spread low-VOC medical-grade adhesive evenly using a 3mm notched trowel.

Wait for Tack-Free Stage & Lay Flooring
→ Allow adhesive to turn translucent (5-15 mins). Confirm tackiness with touch test, then slowly lower and smooth the PVC sheet.

Roll-Seal & Complete
→ Use a 75kg floor roller to eliminate air pockets. Curing completes in 48 hours.

(三)Seam Welding Installation: Permanent Seam Integrity

Groove the Seams
→ Use a U-groove router to cut 2/3 deep into joint edges (45° angle).

Weld with Hot Air Gun
→ Insert PVC welding rod into groove; fuse at 500°F (260°C) using circular motions.

Trim Excess & Finish
→ Immediately scrape off overflow with a hook knife → Polish flush with seam planer.
