Binocular Optical Colposcope

Colposcopy is a diagnostic procedure that utilizes a colposcope to magnify cervical and vaginal epithelium 10-40 times under intense illumination. This enhanced visualization enables detection of microscopic lesions invisible to the naked eye, facilitating targeted biopsies of suspicious areas to improve diagnostic accuracy for cervical pathologies. Here are 3 core components of the Optical Colposcope--LED Light source, magnification optical system, and green filters. For starting the Colposcopy procedure, The patient is positioned in a lithotomy position. A speculum is inserted into the vagina to gently widen it, exposing the cervix, then positioned the device 20–30 cm away from the vaginal opening, aligned to focus on the cervix. The clinician adjusts magnification and applies acetic acid or Lugol's iodine to highlight abnormal tissue (e.g., precancerous lesions), then image or video are captured for recording or future analysis. If there are suspicious areas, the the gynecologist will take sampled using specialized tools under colposcopic guidance. Currently it is painless and safer ways for cervival checking up.
